Roasted Peanuts Recipe

Recipe By Slurrp

Peanuts were brought to limelight once they travelled from African lands to America during the 18th century. Earlier, they were known as groundnuts or groundpeas and later came to be known as peanuts. The peanut production took off in the United States only in the 19th century when they were first grown in Virginia. The trajectory of this humble nut that brought it to India is not very clear yet some believe that Indians were introduced to it through the Magellan expedition. Peanuts are not only eaten raw, but roasted or fried for enhancing their flavour. These roasted peanuts are healthy snacks and homemade roasted peanuts are better than the store-bought snacks. Roasting them at home takes less time to make as it is a very simple dish. The peanuts are tossed in a spicy mixture and then roasted, lending them a distinct flavour and making them a delicious evening snack.
