Oats were first introduced in the jammu and kashmir state by the then king, maharaja hari singh (1925-1947) in his stud farms. The seeds were imported from europe. Afterwards oats became extensively popular in northern india. Oats are gluten free and healthy to eat. More potent when eaten raw.
