Cooking Directions

  • STEP 1.In a pan, heat oil and add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, and curry leaves.
  • STEP 2.Add chopped tomatoes, tamarind pulp, turmeric powder, and rasam powder.
  • STEP 3.Add water and let it simmer for 10-15 minutes.
  • STEP 4.Season with salt and garnish with coriander leaves before serving.

Cooking Tips

  • Adjust the spiciness by adding more or less rasam powder.
  • You can add cooked lentils for a thicker consistency.
  • Serve the rasam hot with steamed rice or as a soup.
