A traditional Rajasthani and Gujarati sweet dish. The main ingredients of this recipe are broken porridge and jaggery. Lapsi is often prepared during Durga puja or Ganesh puja.
STEP 1. Take 3 tablespoons of ghee in a pan, add a cup of broken wheat (daliya) in it. Roast at medium heat for 10 minutes.
STEP 2.When the colour changes add 3 cupa of water and 10 saffron strings in the pan.
STEP 3.Cover the lid and wait for 5 whistles. It will be cooked well.
STEP 4.Add a cup of jaggery pieces, mic well till jaggery melts, add 2 almonds, a cup of desiccated coconut, some cardamom seeds and let it cook at low flame for 5 minutes.
STEP 5.Mix well before serving. The fada lapsi is ready. garnish with some nuts and raisins.
