Ingredients for Putu Piring Recipe

  • 2 cup rice flour
  • 3 Nos lemongrass
  • 1/4 cup palm sugar
  • 1/2 cup shredded coconut
  • 1.25 cup Water
  • 1/4 teaspoon Salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon Vanilla extract

Directions: Putu Piring Recipe

  • STEP 1.Add rice flour,2 chopped lemongrass heat at medium flame and stir for 7 minutes.
  • STEP 2.In a pot add water,1 stalk of chopped lemongrass, vanilla extract, salt and boil for 7 mins. Transfer the roasted rice flour into a mixing bowl and discard the lemongrass and also take out the lemongrass out of water.
  • STEP 3.Drizzle the water into the flour one spoon at a time and mix it well in a solid texture. Now put a layer of rice mixture in the bottom of a small bowl.
  • STEP 4.Then put a layer of palm sugar on top of it and cover with another layer of rice flour and even the surface. Now add shredded coconut on top and repeat the process taking up another bowl .
  • STEP 5.Then put the bowls in a bamboo steamer for 20 mins or for shorter time span depending on the size of bowl. once it.
  • STEP 6.Cooked take out the bowls and turn upside down on a plate and serve.
