The prickly pear margarita is a regional specialty in mexico and the southwest united states. Its based on a typical margarita recipe, but uses a larger measure of syrup for a beautiful magenta color and a gentle fruity sweetness. We dont always take a salt rim on our margaritas but when we make the prickly pear margarita, the salt rim helps to keep the drink from tilting too far to the candy-sweet end of the scale.
