Modern day households would rather use a pressure cooker and the gas chullah, even though it means being deprived of the unique feel of the traditional kind of taste and flavor that Poda Pitha is associated with.

Ingredients for Poda Pitha Recipe

  • 2 cup Raw Rice
  • 1 cup White gram + 2 tbsp
  • 1/2 Grated coconut no
  • 100 gram Cottage cheese
  • 50 gram Jaggery
  • 6 No.s Crushed green cardamom
  • As required Clarified Butter
  • As required Sliced coconut
  • As required Cashew nuts
  • 2 Bay leaves no
  • 1 teaspoon Black pepper powder
  • As required Salt

Directions: Poda Pitha Recipe

  • STEP 1.Blend rice and white gram differently

step 2

  • STEP 2.Mix both of them adding bay leaves , black pepper powder and salt to taste

step 3

  • STEP 3.Heat the pan and fry jaggery,grated coconut and cottage cheese

step 4

  • STEP 4.Heat the pressure cooker and add butter

step 5

  • STEP 5.Add the blended mix

step 6

  • STEP 6.Add the fried jaggery mix as scoops

step 7

  • STEP 7.Add cashew nuts and sliced coconuts

step 8

  • STEP 8.Close the lid and cook for 5mins

step 9

  • STEP 9.Serve as snacks
