  • 1/2 cup Rice Flour
  • 1/2 cup Chickpea Flour
  • 1/4 cup Yogurt
  • 1/2 cup Water
  • 1/2 teaspoon Ginger Paste
  • 1/2 teaspoon Green Chili Paste
  • 1/4 teaspoon Turmeric Powder
  • As required Salt To Taste
  • 1/2 teaspoon Sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon Oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon Mustard Seeds
  • 1/2 teaspoon Sesame Seeds
  • as needed A Few Curry Leaves
  • as needed Chopped Coriander Leaves For Garnish

Cooking Directions

  • STEP 1.In a bowl, mix rice flour, chickpea flour, yogurt, and water to make a smooth batter.
  • STEP 2.Add ginger paste, green chili paste, turmeric powder, salt, and sugar to the batter and mix well.
  • STEP 3.Grease a steamer plate and pour the batter into it. Steam for 15-20 minutes until the dhokla is cooked and firm.
  • STEP 4.Remove from the steamer and let it cool for a few minutes. Cut into squares or diamond shapes.
  • STEP 5.Heat oil in a pan and add mustard seeds, sesame seeds, and curry leaves. Once they splutter, pour the tempering over the dhokla pieces.
  • STEP 6.Garnish with chopped coriander leaves and serve with green chutney and tamarind chutney.

Cooking Tips

  • Make sure the batter is smooth and free of lumps for a fluffy texture.
  • Add a pinch of baking soda to the batter for extra softness.
  • You can add grated coconut or chopped vegetables to the batter for added flavor and texture.
