  • 1/4 cup Moong Dal
  • 3/4 cup Water
  • 0.13 teaspoon Turmeric Powder
  • As required Salt To Taste
  • 1/4 tablespoon Oil
  • 0.13 teaspoon Mustard Seeds
  • 0.13 teaspoon Cumin Seeds
  • as needed A Few Curry Leaves
  • 1/2 Green Chilies, Slit
  • as per your need Fresh Coriander Leaves For Garnish

Cooking Directions

  • STEP 1.Wash and soak the moong dal for 30 minutes.
  • STEP 2.Pressure cook the dal with water, turmeric powder, and salt until soft.
  • STEP 3.In a pan, heat oil and add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, curry leaves, and green chilies. Saute for a minute.
  • STEP 4.Add the cooked dal to the pan and mix well. Cook for a few minutes until the flavors blend together.
  • STEP 5.Serve hot with rice or roti.

Storage and Serving

  • Pesara kattu can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.
  • Reheat the kattu in a pan or microwave before serving.
