An innovative side dish with pappad. Papadom thoran is a very simple thoran recipe from Kerala but what makes this special is an interesting fact is its combination. Pappadam /Pappad are thin, crispy Indian flatbread made out of lentil flour, they’re lots of variations available like plain or spiced. It is served as an accompaniment to a meal or eaten as an snack.

Ingredients for Pappdam Thoran Recipe

  • 6 No.s Pappad
  • 2 No.s Dry Red chilly
  • 2 tablespoon Crushed ginger garlic
  • 1 teaspoon Chilli Powder
  • 2 teaspoon Crushed chilly powder
  • 1 teaspoon Turmeric powder
  • 2 sprig Curry leaves
  • 1/4 cup Grated coconut
  • As required Salt
  • 2 tablespoon Oil

Directions: Pappdam Thoran Recipe

step 1

  • STEP 1.Slice 6 pappads into small pieces and fry in a pan. Keep them aside.

step 2

  • STEP 1.Take a pan, add 2 tbsp oil, 2 dry red chilly and saute well.

step 3

  • STEP 1.Add crushed ginger garlic of 2 tbsp, 1 tsp chilli powder, 2 tsp of crushed chilli powder and 1 tsp of turmeric powder.

step 4

  • STEP 1.Then add ¼ cup of grated coconut and 2 sprigs of curry leaves.

step 5

  • STEP 1.Finally add a pinch of salt and mix well.

step 6

  • STEP 1.Now transfer the fried pappads into the pan and stir along with the other ingredients.

step 8

  • STEP 1.Turn off the flame and the hot crispy pappadam thoran is ready.
