#BPF Papaya halwa is a delicious Indian dessert made with ripe or raw papaya, sugar, ghee, nuts and raisins. It has a very mild, slightly tangy and light taste. So it is best to serve as a after meal delight. This halwa can be prepared with raw, semi ripe or fully ripe papaya. But the taste of the halwa made with raw papaya is very different from the one made with ripe papaya.

Ingredients for Papaya halwa Recipe

  • 0.67 Cups Diced ripe papaya
  • 0.33 Cup sugar
  • 1.33-1.67 Tbsp Deshi ghee
  • 0.67 Tsp Corn flour
  • As required Chopped almonds
  • 0.33 Tsp Cardamom powder

Directions: Papaya Halwa Recipe

  • STEP 1.In a pan heat ghee and add chopped papaya cook and mash.
  • STEP 2.Next, add sugar and mix well. Cook 2-3mins. Add 2 tsp ghee and stir well now add cardamom powder
  • STEP 3.Next add corn flour and stir continuously without any lumps. Keeping the flame on medium flame stirring until the ghee is absorbed well. Cook for 2-3mins and switch off the flame.
  • STEP 4.Transfer into serving bowl and garnish with chopped almonds and hot or cold serve.
