Directions: Palak Soybean Kofta Recipe

Cooking Directions

  • STEP 1.To make the koftas, cook soybeans until soft and mash them. Blanch spinach and chop finely.
  • STEP 2.In a bowl, mix mashed soybeans, chopped spinach, gram flour, ginger-garlic paste, red chili powder, garam masala, and salt.
  • STEP 3.Shape the mixture into small balls and deep-fry them until golden brown.
  • STEP 4.To make the gravy, heat oil in a pan and add cumin seeds. Once they splutter, add chopped onions and cook until golden brown.
  • STEP 5.Add ginger-garlic paste, tomato puree, turmeric powder, red chili powder, garam masala, and salt. Cook until the oil separates.
  • STEP 6.Add water and let the gravy simmer for a few minutes. Then, add the fried koftas and simmer for another 5 minutes.
  • STEP 7.Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and serve hot with rice or roti.

Cooking Tips

  • Make sure to cook the soybeans until they are soft and easily mashable.
  • Blanch the spinach in boiling water for a few seconds and then immediately transfer it to ice-cold water to retain its vibrant green color.
  • You can adjust the spice levels according to your taste by adding more or less red chili powder and garam masala.

  • Palak Soybean Kofta can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
