Cooking Directions

  • STEP 1.In a bowl, mix gram flour, salt, turmeric powder, red chili powder, and water to make a smooth batter.
  • STEP 2.Add sliced onions, chopped potatoes, or spinach leaves to the batter and mix well to coat the vegetables.
  • STEP 3.Heat oil in a deep pan or kadai. Drop spoonfuls of the batter-coated vegetables into the hot oil and fry until golden brown and crispy.
  • STEP 4.Remove the bhajias from the oil and drain excess oil on a kitchen towel.
  • STEP 5.Serve hot with chutney or ketchup.

Cooking Tips

  • Make sure the batter is not too thick or too thin. It should have a pouring consistency.
  • You can add other vegetables like bell peppers or cauliflower to the batter for variation.
