Ingredients for Onion Rice with Raita Recipe

  • 1/2 cup Basmati rice
  • 1/2 cup 1 & 1/2 cups water
  • 1 pieces Onion
  • 1 pieces Tomatoes
  • 1/2 tsp Cumin seeds
  • to taste Salt
  • 1/4 tsp Red chilli powder
  • 1/4 tsp Coriander seeds powder
  • 1/4 tsp Garam masala
  • 3 pieces 6-8 pieces
  • 2 pieces Clove
  • 1/2 Pieces Stick cinnamon
  • 1/2 Pieces piece Bay leaf
  • 11.50 g tb sp cooking oil

Directions: Onion Rice With Raita Recipe

  • STEP 1.1. Wash and Soak rice in water for 10 minutes.
  • STEP 2.2. Peel, Wash and chop onions lengthwise. Wash and grate tomato and make puree.
  • STEP 3.3. Heat cooking oil in a pressure cooker. Add cumin seeds and when cumin seeds splutter put finely chopped onions and fry till golden brown colour.
  • STEP 4.4. Now add bay leaf, black pepper seeds, cloves, cinnamom stick and saute for 1 minute.
  • STEP 5.5. Add tomato puree and cook till oil leaves the sides.
  • STEP 6.6. Add all dry masale and mix well.
  • STEP 7.7. Add rice and water and mix well. Now place the lid and cook for 2 whistles and switch off the flame and let pressure releases automatically.
  • STEP 8.8. Open the lid and serve hot with boondi onion raita and green chutney.
