Ingredients for Onion kachori Recipe

  • 0.33 Cups Maida/All-purpose flour
  • 0.33 Cups Oil/ghee
  • As Required Salt -to taste
  • 0.33 Cups Onion
  • 0.17 Tbsp Kalonji onion seed
  • 0.17 Tbsp Fennel seeds/saunf
  • 0.17 Tsp Chill
  • 0.33 Tsp besan (gram flour)
  • 1/2 Tsp coriander powder
  • To Taste chilli powder
  • 0.33 Tsp Garam masala powder
  • 0.33 Tbsp Coriander
  • As Required Oil

Directions: Onion Kachori Recipe

  • STEP 1. Tak a large mixing bowl add the maida,2tsp oil and salt knead the semi soft dough using water .keep it- for 5-7 minutes .
  • STEP 2.Divide the dough into 12 equal parts and keep them covered under a wet muslin cloth.
  • STEP 3.For the onion filling heat oil in a pan.
  • STEP 4.Add the kalonji, saunf, green chillies and onions and saute till the onions turn light brownin color.
  • STEP 5.Add the besan, coriander powder, chilli powder, garam masala and salt and saute for 2-3 minutes.
  • STEP 6.Add the chopped coriander and mix well.
  • STEP 7.Allow the mixture to cool completely.
  • STEP 8.Divide into 12 equal parts and keep aside.
  • STEP 9.To make kachoris roll out each portion of the dough into a 2 inch diameter circle.
  • STEP 10.Place one portion of the filling in the centre of the rolled dough.
  • STEP 11.Surround the filling with the dough by slowly streching it over the filling.
  • STEP 12.Seal the ends tightly and remove excess dough.
  • STEP 13.Roll each filled portion into a 2 1/2 inch diameter circle taking care to ensure that the filling does not spill out.
  • STEP 14.Gently press the centre of the kachori with your thumb.
  • STEP 15.Repeat with the remaining dough and filling.
  • STEP 16.Deep fry the kachoris in hot oil over a slow flame till fgolden brown.
  • STEP 17.The kachoris should puff up like puris.
  • STEP 18.These kachoris take a long time to be cooked in the inside too.
  • STEP 19.Serve hot with tamarind chutney and tomato ketchup.
