  • 1/2 cup Oats
  • 1/4 cup Mixed Lentils
  • 1/2 cup Mixed Vegetables
  • 1/2 Onion, Chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon Ginger Garlic Paste
  • 1/4 teaspoon Cumin Seeds
  • 1/4 teaspoon Turmeric Powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon Red Chili Powder
  • As required Salt To Taste
  • 1 tablespoon Oil

Cooking Directions

  • STEP 1.Heat oil in a pressure cooker and add cumin seeds.
  • STEP 2.Once the cumin seeds start to crackle, add ginger-garlic paste and saute for a minute.
  • STEP 3.Add chopped onions and cook until they turn translucent.
  • STEP 4.Add mixed vegetables, lentils, oats, turmeric powder, red chili powder, and salt to the pressure cooker.
  • STEP 5.Mix well and add water.
  • STEP 6.Close the pressure cooker and cook for 3-4 whistles or until the lentils and oats are cooked through.
  • STEP 7.Let the pressure release naturally before opening the cooker.
  • STEP 8.Serve the Oats Khichdi hot with yogurt or pickle.

  • You can add any vegetables of your choice to the Oats Khichdi.
  • Make sure to wash the lentils and oats thoroughly before cooking.
