Easy and simple recipe of sweet and plain Coconut balls with rice. Narikol Pitha Recipe are Assamese Sweetened Coconut Fried Pitha that is a North Eastern Delicacy. This recipe is prepared on festive occasions. Grated fresh coconut is mixed with sugar and caramelized, and then mixed with flour and milk, and deep fried to prepare this recipe.

Ingredients for Narikol Pitha Recipe

  • 2 cup Rice
  • 1 tablespoon Jaggery
  • 1 tablespoon Fennel seeds
  • 3 tablespoon Sugar
  • 1 tablespoon Sesame Seeds
  • 1 cup Water

Directions: Narikol Pitha Recipe

step 1

  • STEP 1.1. Soak 2 cups of rice in water for 2-3 hours. Drain all the excess water and spread the rice on a clean cotton cloth.

  • STEP 2.2. Grind the rice in a mixer by repeating the above process. Strain the rice as well.

  • STEP 3.Sticky rice flour is ready.

  • STEP 4.3. Take a pan and roast the black sesame seeds in a medium hot flame. Cook over medium flame for 5-6 minutes. Make a coarse powder. Now mix the sesame seeds and jaggery together.

  • STEP 5.Add 3 tablespoon of sugar in a glass of water. Add a pinch of salt and mix together.

  • STEP 6.4. Now make a dough from the rice flour by adding little by little sugar water.

  • STEP 7.5. Make small balls and flatten them into thick rounds. Put 1 spoon of sesame mixture in the middle.  try giving them the shape of xutuli repeat the process.  pithas are ready.

  • STEP 8.In a pan pour mustard oil, heat it and fry the pitha on medium flame. Fry on both sides equally.  keep checking in between.  the texture should be crispy from outside.

  • STEP 9.Ghila pitha are ready.
