  • 1 Boiled Eggs
  • 62.50 gram Minced Meat
  • 1/4 Onion, Grated
  • 1/4 teaspoon Ginger Garlic Paste
  • 1/4 Green Chili, Finely Chopped
  • 1/2 tablespoon Coriander Leaves, Chopped
  • 1/4 teaspoon Garam Masala
  • 1/4 teaspoon Red Chili Powder
  • 0.13 teaspoon Turmeric Powder
  • As required Salt To Taste
  • as needed Oil For Frying
  • 1/4 teaspoon Cumin Seeds
  • 1/4 Bay Leaf
  • 1/4 stick Cinnamon
  • 1/2 Cardamom Pods
  • 1/2 Onions, Finely Chopped
  • 1/4 teaspoon Ginger Garlic Paste
  • 0.13 cup Tomato Puree
  • 0.13 teaspoon Turmeric Powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon Red Chili Powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon Coriander Powder
  • As required Salt To Taste
  • 0.13 cup Water
  • 1/2 tablespoon Cream
  • as needed Chopped Coriander Leaves For Garnish

Cooking Directions

  • STEP 1.In a bowl, combine minced meat, grated onion, ginger-garlic paste, green chili, coriander leaves, garam masala, red chili powder, turmeric powder, and salt.
  • STEP 2.Divide the mixture into small portions and flatten them in your palm.
  • STEP 3.Place a boiled egg in the center of each portion and shape the meat mixture around it to form a ball.
  • STEP 4.Heat oil in a deep pan and fry the koftas until golden brown. Remove and set aside.
  • STEP 5.In a separate pan, heat oil and add cumin seeds, bay leaf, cinnamon stick, and cardamom pods. Saute until fragrant.
  • STEP 6.Add finely chopped onions and cook until golden brown.
  • STEP 7.Add ginger-garlic paste and cook until the raw smell disappears.
  • STEP 8.Add tomato puree, turmeric powder, red chili powder, coriander powder, and salt. Cook until the oil separates from the masala.
  • STEP 9.Add water and bring the gravy to a boil. Reduce the heat and simmer for 10-15 minutes.
  • STEP 10.Add cream and mix well. Cook for another 2-3 minutes.
  • STEP 11.Add the fried koftas to the gravy and simmer for a few minutes until the koftas are heated through.
  • STEP 12.Garnish with chopped coriander leaves and serve hot with rice or naan bread.

Cooking Tips

  • Make sure the boiled eggs are completely cooled before wrapping them with the meat mixture.
  • You can adjust the spice level according to your preference by adding more or less red chili powder.
  • For a healthier version, you can bake the koftas instead of deep-frying them.

Storage and Serving

  • Nargis Kofta can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
  • Reheat the koftas in a microwave or on the stovetop before serving.
