Cooking Directions

  • STEP 1.Marinate the mutton pieces with a mixture of yogurt, ginger-garlic paste, red chili powder, turmeric powder, garam masala, and salt. Let it marinate for at least 2 hours.
  • STEP 2.Grill the marinated mutton pieces until they are cooked and slightly charred. Set aside.
  • STEP 3.In a separate pot, cook the basmati rice until it is 70% cooked. Drain the rice and set aside.
  • STEP 4.In a large pot, layer the partially cooked rice and the grilled mutton tikka. Repeat the layers until all the rice and mutton are used.
  • STEP 5.Cover the pot with a tight-fitting lid and cook on low heat for about 30 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld together.
