  • 250 gram Mutton, Cut Into Pieces
  • 1/4 cup Lentils
  • 1/2 Onion, Finely Chopped
  • 1 Tomatoes, Finely Chopped
  • 1/2 tablespoon Ginger Paste
  • 1/2 tablespoon Garlic Paste
  • 1 tablespoon Sambar Powder
  • 1 tablespoon Tamarind Pulp
  • 1/4 teaspoon Turmeric Powder
  • As required Salt To Taste
  • 1 tablespoon Oil
  • as required Coriander Leaves For Garnish

Cooking Directions

  • STEP 1.Pressure cook the mutton with lentils, turmeric powder, and salt until tender.
  • STEP 2.Heat oil in a pan and add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, and curry leaves.
  • STEP 3.Add onions, tomatoes, ginger, and garlic. Saute until golden brown.
  • STEP 4.Add sambar powder, tamarind pulp, and cooked mutton. Cook for a few minutes.
  • STEP 5.Add water and bring it to a boil. Simmer for 15-20 minutes.
  • STEP 6.Garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot with rice or idli.

Cooking Tips

  • Make sure to cook the mutton until it is tender and falls off the bone.
  • You can adjust the spice level by adding more or less sambar powder.
  • Adding tamarind pulp gives the sambar a tangy flavor.
