  • 2 teaspoon Red Chili Powder
  • 1 tablespoon Ginger Garlic Paste

  • 1 teaspoon Mustard Seeds
  • as required A Few Curry Leaves
  • 2 Onions, Sliced
  • 1 teaspoon Coriander Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Cumin Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Turmeric Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Red Chili Powder
  • 1/2 cup Grated Coconut
  • 1 cup Water
  • as needed Fresh Coriander Leaves For Garnish

Cooking Directions

  • STEP 1.Marinate the mutton pieces with turmeric powder, red chili powder, ginger-garlic paste, and salt.
  • STEP 2.Heat oil in a pan and add mustard seeds, curry leaves, and sliced onions. Saute until the onions turn golden brown.
  • STEP 3.Add the marinated mutton pieces and cook until they are browned on all sides.
  • STEP 4.Add the spice powders - coriander powder, cumin powder, turmeric powder, and red chili powder. Mix well.
  • STEP 5.Add grated coconut and cook for a few minutes until the coconut is well roasted.
  • STEP 6.Add water, cover the pan, and simmer until the mutton is tender and the flavors are well blended.
  • STEP 7.Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and serve hot with rice or roti.

Cooking Tips

  • Marinating the mutton for at least 30 minutes will help to enhance the flavors.
  • You can adjust the spice levels according to your preference by adding more or less red chili powder.
  • For a richer taste, you can also add a tablespoon of ghee while cooking the mutton.
