Cooking Directions

  • STEP 1.Rinse the mug dhal thoroughly and soak it in water for 30 minutes.
  • STEP 2.In a pressure cooker, add the soaked dhal, water, turmeric powder, and salt. Cook for 3-4 whistles or until the dhal is tender.
  • STEP 3.Heat oil in a pan and add cumin seeds, dried red chilies, and chopped onions. Sauté until the onions turn golden brown.
  • STEP 4.Add ginger-garlic paste, green chilies, and chopped tomatoes. Cook until the tomatoes are soft and mushy.
  • STEP 5.Add the cooked dhal to the pan and mix well. Cook for a few minutes until the flavors are well combined.
  • STEP 6.Add garam masala, red chili powder, and coriander powder. Stir well and cook for another 2-3 minutes.
