Ingredients for Moong Millet Khichri - Cook with Millet Recipe

  • 1/4 cup Little millet
  • 0.13 cup Moong dal
  • 1/2 tbsp Toor dal
  • 0.13 tsp Black mustard seeds
  • 1/4 tsp whole cumin seeds
  • 0.03 tsp Hing
  • 1/4 nos pc Bay leaf
  • 1/4 nos pc Dry Red Chilli
  • 3/4 nos pcs Slit Green Chillies
  • As required Curry leaves
  • 1/4 tbsp Ginger paste
  • 1/4 cup chopped onion
  • 1/4 cup Mixed Vegetables (Carrot
  • As required Beans
  • As required Green Peas)
  • 0.13 cup chopped tomato
  • 0.06 tsp turmeric powder
  • 0.06 tsp cumin powder
  • 0.06 tsp coriander powder
  • 0.06 tsp Garam masala powder
  • As required Salt and sugar to taste
  • 0.06 tsp Chopped coriander leaves
  • 1/4 cup Beresta
  • As required Clarified Butter to taste
  • As required White Oil to taste
  • As required Vegetable Stock (optional)
  • 1 cups water or according to need

Directions: Moong Millet Khichri - Cook With Millet Recipe

  • STEP 1.Dry roast Millet.
  • STEP 2.Wash and soak for 2 minutes.
  • STEP 3.Dry roast Moong Dal.
  • STEP 4.Wash and soak for 20 minutes and then drain the water.
  • STEP 5.Add same amount of Clarified Butter and Oil in a Pressure Cooker and when hot add Bay Leaf, Dry Red Chilli, Black Mustard Seeds and Whole Cummin Seeds.
  • STEP 6.When all start cracking add Curry Leaves, Slit Green Chillies, Toor Dal, Hing and Turmeric Powder.
  • STEP 7.Stir for 2 minutes
  • STEP 8.Add Ginger Paste and stir till raw smell goes off.
  • STEP 9.Add Chopped Onion and stir for 1 minute.
  • STEP 10.Add mixed Vegetables and stir for 2 minutes in low-medium flame. You can add vegetables according to your choice.
  • STEP 11.Add rest of spices and mix everything well for 1 minute.
  • STEP 12.Add Tomato and mix well.
  • STEP 13.Now add Millet and Moong Dal. Mix well for 2 minutes.
  • STEP 14.Add Salt and Sugar.
  • STEP 15.Now add Vegetable Stock and Water depending on how much you want the Khichri to be in a liquid form.
  • STEP 16.Close lid and cook until you heard 3 whistles.
  • STEP 17.Prepare Beresta in a different skillet.
  • STEP 18.Wait for the Cooker to release the heat completely.
  • STEP 19.Open the lid. Add chopped Coriander Leaves, Clarified Butter and Beresta.
  • STEP 20.Serve Hot with any fried vegetables according to your choice.
