Cooking Directions

  • STEP 1.Wash and soak the moong dal for 30 minutes.
  • STEP 2.In a pressure cooker, add the soaked dal, turmeric powder, salt, and water.
  • STEP 3.Pressure cook for 3-4 whistles or until the dal is cooked.
  • STEP 4.In a pan, heat oil and add cumin seeds, cloves, cinnamon stick, and bay leaf.
  • STEP 5.Add chopped onions and saut茅 until golden brown.
  • STEP 6.Add ginger-garlic paste and cook until the raw smell disappears.
  • STEP 7.Add chopped tomatoes and cook until they turn soft.
  • STEP 8.Add red chili powder, coriander powder, garam masala, and salt. Cook for a few minutes.
  • STEP 9.Add the cooked dal to the pan and mix well.
  • STEP 10.Add coconut milk and simmer for 5-10 minutes.
  • STEP 11.Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and serve hot with rice or roti.
