STEP 1.1. Wash and Soak rice and dal for 10 minutes.
STEP 2.2. Heat ghee in a pressure cooker. Add cumin seeds and when cumin seeds splutter add chopped onion and saute till golden brown.
STEP 3.3. Add chopped tomato and saute for 1 minute.
STEP 4.4. Now add salt, turmeric powder and black pepper.
STEP 5.5. Add dal and rice and mix and saute for 1 minute.
STEP 6.6. Add water and place the lid and cook till 5-7 whistles and switch off the flame. Let pressure releases automatically.
STEP 7.7. Serve hot garnished with chopped coriander leaves with raita and papad.
