  • 1/4 teaspoon Salt
  • 1/4 tablespoon Oil Or Ghee
  • 1/4 teaspoon Cumin Seeds

  • 1/2 cloves Cloves Of Garlic, Minced
  • 1/2 Tomatoes, Chopped
  • 0.13 teaspoon Turmeric Powder
  • 0.13 teaspoon Red Chili Powder

Cooking Directions

  • STEP 1.Rinse the moong dal under running water until the water runs clear.
  • STEP 2.Soak the dal in water for 30 minutes to 1 hour to soften it.
  • STEP 3.Drain the soaked dal and add it to a pressure cooker with water and salt.
  • STEP 4.Cook the dal on medium heat for 3-4 whistles or until it becomes soft and mushy.
  • STEP 5.In a separate pan, heat oil or ghee and add cumin seeds, chopped onions, and garlic.
  • STEP 6.Saute until the onions turn golden brown and add chopped tomatoes, turmeric powder, and red chili powder.
  • STEP 7.Cook until the tomatoes become soft and mushy.
  • STEP 8.Add the cooked moong dal to the pan and mix well.
  • STEP 9.Simmer for a few minutes and garnish with chopped coriander leaves.
  • STEP 10.Serve hot with rice or roti.
