  • STEP 1.Wash and soak the moon dal for 4-5 hours. Drain the water and grind it into a smooth paste.
  • STEP 2.Heat ghee in a heavy-bottomed pan and add the ground dal paste. Cook on low heat, stirring continuously, until it turns golden brown and releases a nutty aroma.
  • STEP 3.Add sugar, cardamom powder, and saffron strands to the pan. Mix well and cook for another 5-7 minutes until the sugar is dissolved and the halwa thickens.
