Ingredients for Mongolian Crispy Chicken Drumsticks Recipe

  • 8 Chicken drumsticks Nos
  • 3 Ginger sliced cm
  • 4 Spring onion cut into halves Nos
  • 5 Garlic cloves sliced Nos
  • 3 tablespoon Sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Red peppercorns
  • 1 Star anise Nos
  • 2 tablespoon Chinese Five Spice Powder
  • 4 tablespoon Dark soy sauce
  • As required Salt

Directions: Mongolian Crispy Chicken Drumsticks Recipe

step 1

  • STEP 1.1.in a saucepan place 8 chicken drumsticks, 3 cm sliced ginger, 5 sliced cloves garlic, 4 spring onions cut in halves, 1 tsp red peppercorn, 3 tbsp sugar,1 star anise, 2 tbsp chinese five spice powder, 4 tbsp dark soy sauce, 1 ltr water.

  • STEP 2.2. stir all the ingredients together and bring to a boil for 2 minutes.

  • STEP 3.3. Then cover the pan, turn the heat to medium and cook for 30 minutes until the chicken is tender.

  • STEP 4.4. Then remove the chicken pieces from the pan and keep aside.

step 5

  • STEP 5.5. In a wok heat, 1 ltr oil . When oil is hot add the chicken drumsticks one at a time.

step 6

  • STEP 6.6. Fry for 3 to 5 minutes till crispy and golden.

step 7

  • STEP 7.7. Remove from the wok, drain and transfer to a dish and serve hot.
