  • 1/2 Onion, Finely Chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon Ginger Garlic Paste

  • 1/4 teaspoon Mustard Seeds
  • 0.13 teaspoon Asafoetida
  • 1/4 teaspoon Turmeric Powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon Red Chili Powder
  • As required Salt To Taste
  • 1 cup Water
  • 1 tablespoon Oil

Cooking Directions

  • STEP 1.Wash and soak the millet for 30 minutes.
  • STEP 2.Heat oil in a pressure cooker and add cumin seeds, mustard seeds, and asafoetida.
  • STEP 3.Add chopped onions, ginger-garlic paste, and sauté until golden brown.
  • STEP 4.Add chopped spinach, turmeric powder, red chili powder, and salt. Mix well.
  • STEP 5.Drain the soaked millet and add it to the pressure cooker. Stir well.
  • STEP 6.Add water and pressure cook for 3-4 whistles.
  • STEP 7.Once the pressure is released, open the cooker and fluff the khichdi with a fork.
  • STEP 8.Serve hot with yogurt or pickle.
