Ingredients for Methi Rice Recipe

  • 1/2 cup Long grained basmati rice
  • 1/4 Tbsp tbso refined oil
  • 1/2 g arlic pods chopped finely
  • 0.13 tsp Cumin seeds
  • 3/4 g reen cardsmom pods
  • 1/2 g reen chillies slitted
  • 0.13 cup Frozen peas
  • 1/2 cups Methi leaves
  • 0.06 tsp Garam masala powder
  • 0.03 tsp Turmeric powder
  • to taste Salt
  • 1/4 tbsp Lemon juice

Directions: Methi Rice Recipe

  • STEP 1.Wash & soak rice for about 30 mints.Bring 4 cups of water to a boil & add the rice.
  • STEP 2.Cooked until the rice is done to a grainy texture & not mushy .
  • STEP 3.Transfer it to another strainer to cool completely.
  • STEP 4.Pour oil into a wok or kadai.Add cumin, green chillies, green cardamom & chopped garlics.
  • STEP 5.Saute garlic until nice aroma comes out ,add green peas & chopped methi leaves wilt off.

  • STEP 6.I prefer not to over fry & like to cook it uncovered ,so they retain the flavours ,colours & nutrients.

  • STEP 7.Add the rice, sprinkle salt, garam masala powder & mix everything well(use scoop & lift method).Add some lemon juice .

  • STEP 8.Serve the healthy ,delicious methi rice with papad & raita.Enjoy.
