Ingredients for Methi Matar Pulav Recipe

  • 1/2 Cups bowl basmati rice
  • 1/2 Cups Peas
  • A Bunch chopped and washed methi leaves
  • 1/2 Pieces Onion
  • 1/2 Pieces Tomato
  • 1/4 tsp Cumin seeds
  • 4 As Required Black pepper
  • 2 Pieces Cloves
  • 1/2 Pieces Bay leaf
  • 1 g reen Cardamom
  • As Required Salt
  • 1/4 Tsp Red chilli powder
  • 1/4 Tsp Turmeric powder
  • 1/4 g aram masala as per taste
  • 1 As Required For Ganishing tb sp cooking oil

Directions: Methi Matar Pulav Recipe

  • STEP 1.1. Wash and soak rice for 15 minutes.
  • STEP 2.2. Heat cooking oil in a pressure cooker. Add cumin seeds and when cumin seeds splutter add black pepper seeds, cloves, cinnamom and bay leaf and saute for 1 minute.
  • STEP 3.3. Put finely chopped onions and fry till golden brown colour.
  • STEP 4.4. Add grated tomato and saute for 1 minute.
  • STEP 5.5. Add chopped methi leaves and peas and cook for 5 minutes on low flame till oil leaves the sides.
  • STEP 6.6. Now add salt, red chilli powder, garam masala, turmeric powder and mix well.
  • STEP 7.7. Add rice and mix well and saute for 1 minute.
  • STEP 8.8. Add water and place the lid and cook till 2 whistles. Switch off the flame and let pressure releases automatically.
  • STEP 9.9. Serve hot with raita and pickle.
