This is one of those recipes I love during monsoons. A perfect plate of comfort and deliciousness. If you are a Rice person and love such one pot meals, then this recipe is a worth try. You can even prepare this in a pressure cooker.

Ingredients for Matki Bhaat Recipe

  • 1/4 cup soaked rice of choice
  • 0.13 cup Sprouted moth
  • 0-1/4 tbsp Oil
  • 0.13 tsp mustard seeds
  • 0.13 tsp Cumin seeds
  • 1/2 nos Bay leaves
  • 1/4 nos dry red chilli
  • 1/4 nos Star anise
  • 1/4 nos black cardamom
  • 0-1/4 nos Black pepper
  • 0.06 tsp Asafoetida
  • As required salt to taste
  • 1/4 tsp red chilli powder
  • 1/4 tsp coriander powder
  • 0.13 tsp cumin powder
  • 0.06 tsp garam masala
  • 1/2 tsp garlic ginger paste
  • 1/2 nos green chillies
  • As required Curry leaves
  • 0.31 cups Water
  • 1/2 nos Onions sliced
  • 1/4 nos Tomato chopped

Directions: Matki Bhaat Recipe

  • STEP 1.Heat oil in a skillet, add all khada masala and curry leaves.
  • STEP 2.Add sliced onions and saute for a while.
  • STEP 3.Now add chopped tomatoes, green chillies, garlic ginger paste and mix well.
  • STEP 4.Saute well.
  • STEP 5.Add sprouted moth and all dry spices along with salt. Mix well and saute for a while.
  • STEP 6.Add rice and water. Cover and cook until done.
  • STEP 7.Serve hot with green chillies, lemon and onions.
