Ingredients for Matar Halwa #BSK Recipe

  • 1/4 cup Green peas
  • 0.19 cup Mawa
  • 0.19 cup Sugar
  • 0.06 cup Ghee
  • 1/2 tbsp cashew
  • 1/2 tbsp Almonds
  • 0.13 tsp Cardamom powder

Directions: Matar Halwa #bsk Recipe

  • STEP 1.Place the green peas in a mixer jar and grind them a little coarsely.
  • STEP 2.Crumble mawa and add it to a pan. Turn on the flame and roast it on low flame until there is slight change in the color. Keep stirring constantly. When the mawa turns fragrant, transfer it to a different bowl.
  • STEP 3.Heat some ghee in a pan and add ground peas paste to it. Stir continuously and roast until there is slight change in the color and halwa turns fragrant. Keep the flame medium.
  • STEP 4.When the peas are roasted, add 1/2 cup water to it followed by sugar and continue cooking until gets dense in consistency. Keep few chopped cashews and almonds for later use and mix the remaining ones. Now that the halwa has turned thick in consistency, add mawa to it and cook on low flame. Stir thoroughly to mix the mawa.
  • STEP 5.Now add cardamom powder to it and mix thoroughly. Halwa is ready, turn off the flame and transfer it to a serving plate. Tempting and super delicious green peas halwa is ready, garnish with some chopped cashews and almonds. These special and uniquely flavored halwa are prepared whenever we crave for something sweet.
