This is one of fav sabji in my family.I learned it from my mother.She always use to make this sabji when baby onions or small size onions are a avilable.Its tasty n something different from daily sabjis.
STEP 1.Wash onion peel up make cross type cut on it like brinjals.Put it in water with pinch of salt.
STEP 2.Now roast dry coconut grated ,take in mixer,add dry corriander powder,green corriander ,add little water ,make fine paste.
STEP 3.Take paste in bow,add red chilli powder,turmeric powder,garam masala ,salt mix well,stuff it in onion with help of knife. It will need little quantity,some paste will left,keep aside.
STEP 4.Now heat oil on medium flame ,add mustard seeds then cumin seeds ,when splutters slow the flame ,add ginger garlic paste for a minute,add asafoetida ,now add the left paste ,saute till looses the oil on slow flame,now put the stuffed onions over the roasted paste,add 2 cups of boiled water,cook with lid till the onions become soft.
STEP 5.Don't stir continuously,add little boiled water if needed to adjust desired consistency.Ilet it boil for 2 minutes,it's ready to serve ,serve hot with chapati or jowar roti,bajra roti.It tastes awesome.
