  • 0.13 cup Split Yellow Moong Dal
  • 1/2 tablespoon Oil
  • 1/4 teaspoon Cumin Seeds

  • 1/4 teaspoon Ginger Garlic Paste
  • 1/2 Green Chilies, Chopped
  • 1/4 cup Mixed Vegetables
  • 0.13 teaspoon Turmeric Powder
  • 0.13 teaspoon Red Chili Powder
  • 0.13 teaspoon Garam Masala
  • 1 cup Water
  • As required Salt To Taste

Cooking Directions

  • STEP 1.Wash and soak rice and lentils for 30 minutes.
  • STEP 2.Heat oil in a pressure cooker and add cumin seeds, cloves, and cinnamon.
  • STEP 3.Add chopped onions, ginger-garlic paste, and green chilies. Saute until onions turn golden brown.
  • STEP 4.Add chopped vegetables, turmeric powder, red chili powder, and garam masala. Cook for a minute.
  • STEP 5.Drain the soaked rice and lentils and add them to the pressure cooker. Mix well.
  • STEP 6.Add water, salt, and pressure cook for 3-4 whistles.
  • STEP 7.Once the pressure is released, open the cooker and fluff the khichdi with a fork.
  • STEP 8.Serve hot with yogurt or pickle.

  • You can add vegetables like carrots, peas, and potatoes to make the khichdi more nutritious.
