Ingredients for Masala Dosa Recipe

  • As required Ingredients For Masala filling
  • 2 No.s Potato
  • 1 No.s Beetroot
  • 1 No.s Carrot
  • 1.50 No.s Onion
  • 3 No.s Green chilli
  • 1/4 teaspoon Kashmiri chilli
  • 1/4 teaspoon Turmeric Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Ginger
  • As required Curry leaves A few
  • 2 tablespoon Sunflower Oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon Mustard seeds
  • 1/4 teaspoon Urad dal
  • 2 No.s Red Chilli
  • 1 cup Water
  • As required Ingredients for Dosa
  • 2 cup Idli Rice/Raw Rice
  • 1/2 cup Urad dal
  • 2 tablespoon Parboiled rice
  • 3/4 cup Poha
  • 1/2 tablespoon Fenugreek seeds
  • As required Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Sugar
  • As required Ghee/sesame oil

Directions: Masala Dosa Recipe

step 1

  • STEP 1.Peel, wash and cut the vegetables(carrot and beetroot).

  • STEP 2.Peel, wash and cut the potatoes.

step 3

  • STEP 3.Finely chop the onions lengthwise.

step 4

  • STEP 4.Soak washed rice for 4hrs.

step 5

  • STEP 5.Soak washed urad dal for 4hrs.

  • STEP 6.Take a jar and grind the soaked urad dal, by gradually adding water. Then grind the soaked rice with 2tbsp cooked rice and water in each batch. Let it rest overnight.

  • STEP 7.1 take a pressure cooker and add carrot and beetroot. Add salt to taste , ½ cup water and cook in medium flame for 4whistles. Turn off the flame and let it cool down.open and then shift it to a bowl

  • STEP 8.2 take a pressure cooker and add potatoes. Add salt to taste, ½ cup water and cook in medium flame for 1whistle.

  • STEP 9.3 mash the cooked vegetables with a masher.

  • STEP 10.4 heat 2tbsp oil in a pan. Add 2 red chillies,few curry leaves, 1/2tsp mustard seeds, a pinch of urad dal(optional). Let it crackle in medium flame. Add the chopped onion. A small piece of ginger chopped lengthwise, 3 green chillies split into two halves. Add salt to taste. Saute it for a while. Add ¼ tsp turmeric powder, ¼ tsp chilli powder. Saute it for a while, until the raw smell is no more. Add the mashed vegetables(carrot & beetroot). Mix well. Add the boiled potato. Mash it with the spoon.

  • STEP 11.5 let it cook in medium flame for 5 mins. Turn off the flame.

  • STEP 12.6 heat a tawa and pour 1 ladle dosa batter. Spread in circular motion to make dosa. Sprinkle some ghee. Make sure the flame is low-medium. Let it cook for 2 mins.

step 13

  • STEP 13.7 when the dosa becomes golden, place 2tbsp masala filling in between and spread it. Then fold the dosa from the opposite sides.

step 14

  • STEP 14.8 masala dosa is ready to be served.
