Ingredients for Mango phirni Recipe

  • 1/4 litre Full fat milk
  • 100 grams 400 grams Mangoes (1 cup
  • 0.06 cup Basmati rice
  • 0.06 cup Sugar or taste
  • 1/4 tsp Cardamom powder
  • 1/4 inch Pinch of saffron strands
  • 1.50 Pieces Sliced pistachios and Almonds

Directions: Mango Phirni Recipe

  • STEP 1.Wash and soak rice for 40 minutes.
  • STEP 2.Drain the water completely and spread it onto a plate to dry well.
  • STEP 3.Then, grind it in a mixer to a coarse powder .
  • STEP 4.Now, in a heavy bottom pan, bring the milk to boil. Once the milk starts boiling, simmer it till the milk reduces to ¾th of its volume.
  • STEP 5.Meanwhile, wash and peel the mangoes and cut it in to cubes. Add the cubes into a blender or mixer.
  • STEP 6.Blend it to a fine pulp.
  • STEP 7.Now, add rice stirring continuosly to avoid the lump formation.
  • STEP 8..Then, add cardamom powder and allow it to simmer for 10 minutes. you will see that phirni will start thickening. Keep stirring in between to avoid burning.
  • STEP 9.Now take the phirni off the heat and allow it to cool completely
  • STEP 10.Now, add mango pulp and mix well.
  • STEP 11. Mango Phirni is ready to dish out. the mango phirni into clay pots or regular serving bowls and garnish it with pumpkin seeds ,saffron strands and pistachios. Chill for few hours before serving.
