Directions: Mandarin Pork Roast Recipe

Cooking Directions

  • STEP 1.In a bowl, combine soy sauce, ginger, garlic, and orange juice. Place the pork roast in a large resealable bag and pour the marinade over it. Seal the bag and refrigerate for at least 2 hours or overnight.
  • STEP 2.Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Remove the pork roast from the marinade and place it in a roasting pan. Discard the marinade.
  • STEP 3.Roast the pork for about 1 hour, or until the internal temperature reaches 145°F (63°C). While the pork is roasting, prepare the glaze.
  • STEP 4.In a small saucepan, combine mandarin orange juice, honey, and soy sauce. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for about 10 minutes, or until the glaze thickens.
  • STEP 5.Brush the glaze over the pork roast during the last 15 minutes of cooking, basting every 5 minutes. Remove the pork from the oven and let it rest for 10 minutes before slicing.
  • STEP 6.Serve the Mandarin Pork Roast with the remaining glaze on the side. Garnish with fresh orange slices and chopped green onions, if desired.

Cooking Tips

  • For extra flavor, you can add a tablespoon of orange zest to the marinade.
  • Make sure to baste the pork roast with the glaze frequently to ensure a sticky and caramelized coating.
  • Letting the pork rest before slicing allows the juices to redistribute, resulting in a more tender and flavorful roast.

Storage and Serving

  • Leftover Mandarin Pork Roast can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
  • To reheat, place the pork in a baking dish and cover with foil. Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for about 15-20 minutes, or until heated through.
  • Serve the reheated pork with steamed rice and your choice of vegetables for a quick and delicious meal.
