A famous and flavourful dish from maharashtra. It needs alot of coconut which is easily available in the konkan area. A coconut based spicy yet tasty recipe. I have learnt this recipe from my marathi friend.

Ingredients for Malvani Chicken Curry Recipe

  • As required For marination
  • 175 gram Chicken
  • 1/4 teaspoon ginger Paste
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic paste
  • As required Salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon chilli powder
  • 1/4 tablespoon Lemon juice
  • As required Malvani masala
  • 1/4 tablespoon cumin seeds
  • 1/4 tablespoon coriander seeds
  • 3/4 Green cardamom
  • 1/4 Black cardamom
  • 1/4 inch Cinnamon Stick
  • 1-1.25 Cloves
  • 1/4 teaspoon Shahjeera
  • 0.13 teaspoon Jaifol / nutmeg
  • 0.13 teaspoon javitri / mace
  • 1.75-2 Black peppercorns
  • 1/2 Dry Red chilli
  • 1-1.25 tablespoon Grated coconut
  • 1/2 tablespoon Poppy seeds
  • As required For the gravy
  • 1/2 Onion Thinly Sliced
  • 1/4 teaspoon ginger paste
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic paste
  • 1/4 tablespoon Kashmiri chilli powder
  • 1/4-1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • As required Salt
  • 1/4 Green chilli finely chopped
  • 3/4-1 tablespoon Malvani masala
  • 1/2 teaspoon Garom masala
