  • 0.13 cup Lentils
  • 1/4 Onion, Chopped
  • 1/2 Tomatoes, Chopped
  • 1/2 cloves Cloves Garlic, Minced
  • 1/4 inch Ginger, Grated
  • 1/4 teaspoon Mustard Seeds
  • 1/4 teaspoon Cumin Seeds
  • 1/2 Dried Red Chilies
  • 1/4 teaspoon Sambar Powder
  • 0.13 teaspoon Turmeric Powder
  • As required Salt To Taste
  • 1/2 tablespoon Oil
  • as per your need Curry Leaves For Garnish
  • as required Coriander Leaves For Garnish

Directions: Malabar Spinach Sambar Or Basale Soppina Huli Recipe

Cooking Directions

  • STEP 1.Wash and soak the lentils for 30 minutes.
  • STEP 2.Pressure cook the lentils with water, turmeric powder, and salt.
  • STEP 3.Heat oil in a pan and add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, curry leaves, and dried red chilies. Saute until the mustard seeds crackle.
  • STEP 4.Add chopped onions, garlic, and ginger. Saute until the onions turn golden brown.
  • STEP 5.Add chopped tomatoes, sambar powder, turmeric powder, and salt. Cook until the tomatoes are soft.
  • STEP 6.Add the cooked lentils and Malabar spinach. Mix well and simmer for 10 minutes.
  • STEP 7.Garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot with rice or roti.
