Simple recipe for traditional makki ki roti. It is a rustic Punjabi flatbread is a winter staple made with coarse yellow cornmeal and simple ingredients. This is a homemade roti and has authentic ways of preparing.
STEP 1.1. In a bowl start making dough by adding ajwain (carrom seeds) , salt and oil.

STEP 2.Now mix little by little hot water in the bowl. Mix with a spoon but don

STEP 3.T use hands. And leave it for 5 minutes.

STEP 4.After 5 minutes start kneading. Let the dough rest for 5 minutes.

STEP 5.Take portions of the dough and divide equally in desired quantity.

STEP 6.Now use your hands to shape them and use roller, roll 2.5 inches of circle.

STEP 7.1. Heat a tawa on medium heat and place the rolled roti on it. You may add little oil or ghee to the tawa before you place the roti on it.

STEP 8.2. if you are afraid that it will break while you lift it from the parchment paper, simply put the roti with the paper directly on the tawa (with the paper side up) and then carefully peel the parchment paper from the top.

STEP 9.3. Cook until one side has brown spots on it and then flip and cook the other side as well. Cook all the rotis similarly. Apply ghee on rotis before serving.
