Ingredients for Makki bites with Sarso ka Saag 🌾 Recipe
A Bunch Mustard leaves
A Bunch Spinach Leaves
Handful Methi Leaves (Fenugreek)
Handful Bathua leaves
Handful Radish leaves
2 Cups Water
As Required For Tempering
3 Tbsp Ghee
1 Tbsp Garlic chopped
3 Tbsp Onion chopped
2 Tbsp Tomato chopped
2 Pieces Green chilli chopped
2 Tsp Ginger chopped
1 Tbsp Makki atta (maize flour)
To Taste Salt
As Required nd temperin
1 Tbsp Desi Ghee
1 Tsp Chilli Powder
9 Pieces Paneer cubes
As Required Ingredients
3 Cups Cornmeal
2 Tbsp chopped Radish Leaves
To Taste Salt as per taste
3 Tsp Butter
As Required Warm water for kneading
Directions: Makki Bites With Sarso Ka Saag 🌾 Recipe
STEP 1.Instructions for making Saag:
STEP 2.1. In a vessel,add all the green leaves and bring them to a boil and cook till all the leaves wilt. Remove from heat and allow to cool down partially.
STEP 3.Put all the ingredients to grind.
STEP 4.2. In a fresh pan, heat ghee. Add garlic and cook till it begins to brown. Add onions, green chilli and ginger and tomatoes and cook for 3 mins. Sprinkle maize flour and cook again for 2 mins.
STEP 5.3. Add prepared puree immediately. Cook for 12-15 minutes. Add salt and stir well. Remove to a serving bowl. In a separate pan add ghee and sprinkle chilli powder. Immediately remove from heat and add this tempering to the prepared saag and add paneer cubes and serve hot.
STEP 6.Instructions for Makki ki Roti:
STEP 7.1. Take the cornmeal in a mixing bowl and add the chopped radish leaves in the cornmeal. Add salt to this mixture and start adding warm water little by little and knead it.
STEP 8.2. Its better to have a softer dough as it will be easier to make the round shaped rotis.
STEP 9.3. Take a square sized butter paper, large enough to make the desired size of rotis.
STEP 10.4. Now take a portion of the dough and place it on the paper, wet your hands with water and slowly pat it till it becomes a round shape.
STEP 11.5. Cut them into desired round shapes.
STEP 12.6. Heat a tawa. Now gently take round pieces out from it using spatula and put it on tawa.
STEP 13.7. Cook from both the sides on low flame for 2-3 minutes. Transfer it to a plate.
STEP 14.Brush some butter over the warm roti bites.
STEP 15.8. Garnish with mint leaves and red chilly and serve with saag, radish pieces, onions, butter and gud.
