Cooking Directions

  • STEP 1.In a mixing bowl, combine maida, rice flour, and salt. Add water gradually to make a smooth batter.
  • STEP 2.Heat a non-stick tawa or griddle and pour a ladleful of batter. Spread it in a circular motion to form a thin dosa.
  • STEP 3.Drizzle oil around the edges and cook until the dosa turns golden brown and crispy.
  • STEP 4.Flip the dosa and cook for a minute on the other side. Remove from the tawa and repeat the process with the remaining batter.
  • STEP 5.Serve the maida dosa hot with coconut chutney or sambar.

Cooking Tips

  • Make sure the batter is of pouring consistency, similar to that of regular dosa batter.
  • Spread the batter thinly to get a crispy dosa.
  • You can add finely chopped onions, green chilies, and coriander leaves to the batter for added flavor.
  • If the dosa sticks to the tawa, sprinkle a few drops of water to release it easily.

Storage and Serving

  • Maida dosa is best served hot and fresh.
  • If you have leftover dosas, store them in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
  • To reheat, heat a tawa or griddle and place the dosa on it. Cook for a minute on each side until heated through.
  • Serve the reheated dosas with chutney or sambar.
