Cooking Directions

  • STEP 1.In a large pot, cook the bacon until crispy. Remove the bacon from the pot and set aside, leaving the bacon grease in the pot.
  • STEP 2.Add the onions and garlic to the pot and cook until softened and fragrant.
  • STEP 3.Add the lentils, broth, and bay leaf to the pot. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer until the lentils are tender, about 20-25 minutes.
  • STEP 4.While the lentils are cooking, prepare the rice according to package instructions.
