Ingredients for Lazy Housewife Pickles Recipe

  • 0.06 Onion, sliced
  • 1/4 cup Sliced cucumbers
  • 0.06 quart 2 - jars with lids
  • 0.09 cup White sugar
  • 0.09 cup Vinegar
  • 0.03 teaspoon Mustard seeds
  • 0.03 teaspoon Celery seeds
  • 0.03 teaspoon Ground turmeric

Directions: Lazy Housewife Pickles Recipe

Cooking Direction

  • Divide onion slices and cucumbers into jars.
  • Stir sugar, vinegar, mustard seeds, celery seeds, turmeric, and salt in a bowl until sugar and salt have dissolved.
  • Pour the pickling syrup over the onion and cucumber slices. Cover jars with lids and refrigerate for 1 week before opening.

Cooking Tips

  • You can also use a heated brine for this recipe. To do so, simply boil the brine. While still boiling, pour over cucumbers.

Serving and Storage

  • It goes well with burgers, cold meats, salads, hot dogs, sandwiches and hot dogs.
  • Seal and store these pickles for about 6 weeks.
