My favorite in dals. Every week or so my mother makes this dal and now i do too. It's a wonderful combination of burnt whole garlic pods with tangy dal.
Ingredients for Lasanache ambat varan (garlic infused tangy dal) Recipe
1/5 cup toor dal
1/5 Whole garlic pod
0.40 teaspoon Red Chili powder
1/5 teaspoon turmeric powder
1/20 teaspoon hing
As required Salt
piece Small jaggery
0.60-0.80 piece Tamarind
1/20 cup grated coconut
0.40 tablespoon chopped coriander leaves
As required oil for tempering
As required water to thin the dal
