Ingredients for Kosambri Recipe

  • 0.17 cup Soaked Lentils
  • 0.17 cup Grated Carrot
  • 0.17 cup Grated Cucumber
  • 0.67 tablespoon Grated Coconut
  • 0.33 teaspoon Mustard Seeds
  • as required A Few Curry Leaves
  • 0.33 tablespoon Lemon Juice
  • As required Salt To Taste
  • 0.33 tablespoon Oil

Cooking Directions

  • STEP 1.Soak the lentils in water for a few hours and drain.
  • STEP 2.In a mixing bowl, combine the soaked lentils, grated carrots, cucumber, and coconut.
  • STEP 3.In a small pan, heat oil and add mustard seeds and curry leaves. Once they splutter, pour the tempering over the salad.
  • STEP 4.Add lemon juice and salt to taste. Mix well and serve chilled.

Cooking Tips

  • Soak the lentils for at least 2 hours to soften them.
  • You can add chopped green chilies for a spicy kick.
  • Adjust the amount of lemon juice according to your taste preference.

Storage and Serving

  • Kosambri is best served chilled.
