  • 0.33 cup Horse Gram Lentils
  • 0.33 cup Jaggery
  • 0.17 cup Grated Coconut
  • 0.08 cup Water

Cooking Directions

  • STEP 1.Soak horse gram lentils in water for 4-5 hours.
  • STEP 2.Drain the water and grind the lentils to a coarse paste.
  • STEP 3.In a pan, heat jaggery and water until the jaggery melts.
  • STEP 4.Add the ground lentil paste and coconut to the pan and mix well.
  • STEP 5.Cook the mixture on low heat until it thickens and starts to leave the sides of the pan.
  • STEP 6.Remove from heat and allow the mixture to cool slightly.
  • STEP 7.Grease your hands with ghee and shape the mixture into small balls.
  • STEP 8.Allow the balls to cool completely before serving or storing.
  • STEP 9.Store the Kollu Simili Urundai in an airtight container for up to a week.

  • Make sure to soak the lentils for at least 4-5 hours to soften them.
