Cooking Directions

  • STEP 1.Wash and soak the rice for 30 minutes. Drain the water and set aside.
  • STEP 2.In a large saucepan, bring milk to a boil. Add the soaked rice and simmer on low heat, stirring occasionally.
  • STEP 3.Once the rice is cooked and the mixture thickens, add sugar and cardamom powder. Stir well until the sugar dissolves.
  • STEP 4.Remove from heat and let it cool. Garnish with chopped nuts and saffron strands.
  • STEP 5.Serve chilled or at room temperature. Kheer Mohan can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.

Cooking Tips

  • Make sure to stir the kheer frequently to prevent it from sticking to the bottom of the pan.
  • You can adjust the sweetness of the kheer by adding more or less sugar according to your taste.
