Ingredients for Khara Pongal / Ven Pongal Recipe

  • 1/5 cup Raw rice / sona masuri rice
  • 0.15 cup Moong dal
  • 1/20 cup Ghee
  • 1/5 nos tbs pepper
  • 1/5 tsp Cumin
  • 10 gm Cashew
  • As required small piece grated ginger
  • As required Salt
  • 0.80 nos water :

Directions: Khara Pongal / Ven Pongal Recipe

  • STEP 1.Ven Pongal
  • STEP 2.Pressure cook raw rice ,moong dal and salt for 4 whistle. After few minutes open the cooker and mash the rice. Heat ghee, add cashew, broken pepper, cumin seeds, grated ginger and curry leaves. Fry them and add it to the pongal mix and eat with coconut chutney and moong dal sambar.
